A Queens-based artist making work in NYC, Beth Gill critically examines issues relating to the fields of contemporary dance and performance studies, through an ongoing exploration of aesthetics and perception.

Writer/director Tina Satter draws on Chekhov’s letters, translations, and perverse sense of comedy to consider anew the darkness, beauty, and history of Chekhov’s iconic play The Seagull and its resonances with her Half Straddle ensemble. Seagull (Thinking of you) is a personal look at performance, failure, and attempted love — ultimately an unexpected meditation on why we ever try to say something out loud. With a Russian folk metal-influenced score.
Community Screenings Project |Final Screening for Spring in Klamath Falls, OR
OntheBoards.tv wrapped up the five screening series of Amarillo that made up the Community Screenings Project Thursday, June 20th. The Ross Ragland Theater in Klamath Falls, OR, hosted the screening of the film on their mainstage. The film was followed by a lively discussion with the audience and panelists Tamara Underiner a Professor at Arizona State University, and local community members Rafael Hernandez and Ariana Azomar. The post-screening talk was moderated by Ruth Wikler-Luker of Boom Arts in Portland, OR.
